SUPER excited about doing this poster for my buddies Blackbird Raum. This show is going to be RULING. Album release, tour kick off, killer line up, new shirts, AND I’m hand printing posters and back patches for the show.  And I will be in Alaska. Which I want to complain about but I can’t because it’s fucking Alaska! and that is also going to rule. SO. Go to this show for me! Rock out, party hard, and dance the shit out of it.

This weekend was the opening for Cemetery Polka, a group show of art inspired by the music of Tom Waits. I did a piece called “Temptation”, with acrylic, graphite, ink and gold leaf.

Just finished this poster for Club Kuumbwa, a new series from the Kuumbwa Jazz Center that will feature independent bands and cheap beer. Their first show is LA based band “The Dahls“. Thanks to Bennett Jackson for making this happen!

As some of you might have heard I have been working on a needlepoint project all month, illustrating Fitcher’s Feathered Bird, my favorite of the Grimm’s fairytales. The opening is tonight at the Cafe Delmarette, across the street from Logos, from 7pm-9pm. If you can make it, it would be lovely to see you! If not, it will be up until August 2nd, and up on my website after that. Also, there will be mini crumble pies and mini cheese macs, as well as the obligatory brie and cheap wine, hooray! I hope to see you there!

The most recent cards I made were for Yasamine June, a lovely graphic designer living in Santa Cruz. I was pretty excited to use some of these pieces that I’ve saving, mostly the radial burst and the stationary letters.

A couple of months ago I made some business cards for my dear friend Kai Smart who is a phenomenal tattoer working out of Chimera Tattoo Studio and Gallery. These are absolutely my favorite cards I’ve made so far.

So, in March I realized that my site had been infected with malicious php code, making it so occasionally pages would be redirected spamerific sites. I am tech-smart enough to know what the problem was, but not tech-smart enough to write a code to fix it. So I copied my whole site to my hard drive and took it down. Luckily! I have two very smart friends who wrote codes to fix it for me (thank you Mykle and Orion!), but it was still a huge deal and a giant hassle. SO, several months later, I finally got it back up. HOORAY! In those months I was editioning old and new stickers for the UCSC print sale. Here are some photos of the new stickers and a couple of old ones.

I also printed up new stickers for The Bad Light, a local doom blues band that is fucking awesome. seriously.

These are relief printed then dusted with gold pigment. After they dry I wipe them down to remove the excess.

And here they are! All packaged up and ready to go! I did pretty well in the sale, but the folks running it couldn’t find/forgot to put out my second day’s inventory… bummer.

Over this past week I finished up making stickers for Rohan (Hiram, Brooke and Matt Wilson) and for Heavy Sons (Patrick, Emily, Ryan, and co.). I also started working on the cards for my aunt who runs the website Urban Artichoke.
